To this end, two artistic expressions are compared: the novel Tocar a Diana by Ana Cristina Rossi and the film The Tale by Jennifer Fox. This textual contrast enables a critical denunciation of child sexual abuse from the perspective of Lacanian psychoanalysis, for which the dialectic of the word contributes to the victims’ healing process. Recognizing the gravity of this type of abuse through cinema and literature helps raise awareness among readers and viewers, fostering the eradication of patriarchal prejudices and impositions within society, since both individual and collective perceptions are confronted with themselves when faced with structures of power or with the artistic license embodied in cinematic and literary arts.
2025-11-27T20:07:44+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://revista.uaca.ac.cr/index.php/actas/article/view/1407 Paracetamol Intoxication with Suicidal Intent 2025-11-27T23:02:12+00:00 José Steven Martínez Gómez jose.martinezgomez@ucr.ac.cr
Paracetamol self-intoxication represents a major public health and medico-legal issue due to its wide availability, low cost, and perceived safety. It explores the historical context leading to the abolition of the army; reviews theoretical debates on the peace dividend and the security of states without armed forces; and compares Costa Rica’s experience with that of other non‑militarized countries such as Panama and Iceland. A replicable framework for other countries seeking to replace military spending with social investment is proposed, identifying internal and external conditions needed to maintain security without an army. The article concludes with a discussion of the limits of the Costa Rican model and suggests directions for further research.
2025-11-27T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://revista.uaca.ac.cr/index.php/actas/article/view/1411 Vida Universitaria 2025-11-27T23:02:14+00:00 UACA . revista@uaca.ac.cr
Vida Universitaria 2025
2025-11-27T21:16:46+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement##
