Employing a hermeneutic-Freudian approach grounded in Freud’s (1919) theory of the unheimlich (the uncanny), the study examines how the familiar undergoes a disquieting transformation into manifestations of the uncanny, ultimately triggering the emergence of sinister forms of masculinity and femininity that expose the darker recesses of both individual and collective psyche. From the convergence of the uncanny and feminism, the analysis highlights the potential for uncovering a meaningful conceptual framework through which literature written by women may be viewed from a renewed and distinctive perspective.
Nancy Mena-Fallas ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-05-29 2025-05-29 76 Mayo 19 34 Ten Management Skills http://revista.uaca.ac.cr/index.php/actas/article/view/1396
This proposal aims to establish a solid and comprehensive regulatory standard for evaluating the Comprehensive Framework for the Development of Managerial Competencies, with the ultimate goal of enhancing effective leadership in modern companies and driving their sustainable growth through the continuous development of key human capital. The analysis in this section does not focus on the application and results obtained from the tool's implementation but rather represents an effort to validate the functionality and core value of the questionnaire and of instrument itself. It seeks to jointly validate the act of creation, the knowledge of current, fresh, and experienced leaders, assessing the depth of inquiry, and, after analysis, determining whether it constitutes a valuable provision for selecting managerial personnel for key organizational tasks.
Carlos De la O Herrera, et al. ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-05-29 2025-05-29 76 Mayo 35 60 Summary of the paper presented at the first Student Congress on criminal liability of artificial intelligence http://revista.uaca.ac.cr/index.php/actas/article/view/1397
The possibility of criminal liability for damage caused to artificial intelligence is analyzed, through the study of the current legal system.
Miguel Zamora Acevedo ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-05-29 2025-05-29 76 Mayo 61 76 Beauty and Ugliness in Asterion by Jorge Luis Borges http://revista.uaca.ac.cr/index.php/actas/article/view/1398
This article analyzes how Jorge Luis Borges reinterprets the classic myth of the Minotaur in his short story "The House of Asterion," exploring the dimensions of beauty, ugliness, and otherness. It emphasizes that Asterion, far from being simply a monster, is a divine and creative being who inhabits his own cosmos, symbolizing a liminal figure between the human and the divine. It concludes that Borges transforms the myth into a philosophical reflection on otherness, perception, and beauty, inviting a reevaluation of these concepts within the realm of symbolism and aesthetics.
Gabriel Segura-Ugalde ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-05-29 2025-05-29 76 Mayo 79 118 Radiological identification and clinical management of digestive gland malformations Review article http://revista.uaca.ac.cr/index.php/actas/article/view/1399
This article reviews the main ethiopathogenic aspects of the malformations of the digestive glands, such as the salivary glands, pancreas, liver, and gallbladder, their radiologic appearance and the clinical relevance for possible early diagnosis by imaging.
Arturo Arellano-Moya, et al. ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-05-29 2025-05-29 76 Mayo 121 146 Vida Universitaria http://revista.uaca.ac.cr/index.php/actas/article/view/1400
Galería de imagenes de la vida universitaria
UACA -Galería ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-05-29 2025-05-29 76 Mayo 147 154
