Abstract
Admiral Christopher Columbus said goodbye to the New World in September 1503, upon undertaking, on his fourth voyage, the definitive return to Spain. The eleven previous years, counted from October 12, 1492, can be considered the preparatory period for the Iberian arrival to our vast continent, that prolonged human event - perhaps the most important in all of history - that would fill the following centuries. .
