La impossible evangelization

Abstract

Frequently, the studies that are carried out in the Christian media regarding the 500 years of the evangelization of our continent, take for granted that the evangelization of Amerindian cultures was possible and even real, depending on the judgment on this assumption of the Christian ideological position of the analysts. As is easily verified, some like to emphasize the aspects not achieved, or only achieved in some minority figures, moments and currents, although prophetic, and others start from the recognition that evangelization, even without forgetting its failures and gaps, it was a success and it is a historical and cultural reality.
